Square Enix has obtained great financial results in the first half of its current fiscal year. It posted a consolidated profit of 1.1 billion yen on sales of 19.7 billion yen. The sales were generated from selling 3.5 million units worldwide. The company is predicting that 12.9 million will be the number of units sold by the end of its fiscal year (March 31, 2004). That number has been divided into 4.7 million in Japan, 5.1 in North America, 3 in Europe, and a 100,000 copies in the remaining areas. This confidence must come from Square Enix's upcoming titles for Japan which include Dragon Quest V (Remake), Full Metal Alchemist (Game), Star Ocean 3: Director's Cut, and Final Fantasy X-2 International + Last Mission.
Here are the sales figures:
(for the past 6 months)
