FM4 GETS REVIEWED BY JAPANESE MAGAZINES
Posted on 12.10.2003 by Sifar
Square Enix's PS2 Strategy RPG, Front Mission 4, will be released on December 18, 2003 in Japan. Thus, Square has decided to do a large advertising campaign to get gamers excited for the title. It will be displaying ads for the game on television, on cinema screens, and on the tv screens that display ads on major street intersections/corners.

In addition, three Japanese magazines reviewed the game and gave it the following scores:

01. Dorimaga - 9/10, 9/10, 8/10, 9/10 - total 8.75/10
02. Famitsu - 8/10, 8/10, 8/10, 8/10 - total 32/40
03. Dengeki PS2 - 85/100, 85/100, 95/100, 85/100

Dengeki and Dorimaga had both positive and negative comments about the game. They said that the battle scenes were very good, however, you don't have the ability to shoot individual parts of the enemy Wanzer (mech/robot) accurately. Also, the Wanzers seem to move too easily. This shouldn't be the case because they are fairly heavy objects. To make them seem more realistic, they should've taken more time to move.

A good feature of the game is that load times are short, especially when switching from the map to the battle scene. There is some comment about how the sub-titles aren't as clear as they could've been and thus read difficultly. Also, if you press buttons to fast, you can give instructions twice. The game is very complex and thus would be suited to gamers who like the detail rather than those who don't.
