EVENT PLUS REAL VANA'DIEL PLAYZONE
Posted on 12.13.2003 by Sifar
Square Enix has announced that a special event will occur in Vana'Diel on December 16, 2003. This has been done to celebrate the holiday season. Square Enix has also confirmed to release a new patch on the very same day.

In related news, Real Vana'Diel (the Final Fantasy XI Online PlayZone) has finally opened. It is located in Akihabara, Japan and offers gamers an opportunity to play Final Fantasy XI in a cool environment that reflects the game. It is said that the employees will wear clothing from the game, and that there will be a smoking corner that looks similar to areas in FFXI. The basis is on gaming, and to better that experience, drinks are offered for free and food can be brought from outside without any problems. All the computers will be using ATI based graphic cards which can also be purchased seperately from the store. Other items that can be bought include a controller designed specifically for Final Fantasy XI.

To encourage fans of the game to become members of the store, they are offering a free Final Fantasy XI calendar to the first 250 members who sign up. The store seems to be a success as it filled up within an hour of opening its door. For more information, visit a previous news post on the store in our Final Fantasy XI news category.
