MOST PROMISING TITLES of 2004 SURVEY

The newest issue of Famitsu Magazine held a survey which dealt with figuring out the most promising plays of 2004. The survey was conducted with the average gamer, salespersons, and manufacturers. Here were the results:

According to gamers:
01. Final Fantasy XII
02. Metal GEAR Solid 3
03. Dragon Quest V

According to manufacturers:
01. Final Fantasy XII
02. Dragon Quest VIII
03. Gran Turismo 4

According to salespersons:
01. Final Fantasy XII
02. Dragon Quest VIII
03. Dragon Quest V

In regards to which company was going to release the best games in 2004, here were the overall results.

01. Square Enix
02. Nintendo
03. Namco
04. Sega
05. Capcom
06. Konami

Square Enix and its games dominated the results, but the success was not only because of FFXII and DQVIII. Other games like KH:COM, Kingdom Hearts 2, Front Mission Online, and Ambrosia Odyssey all helped in getting the above results.

In related news, Famitsu magazine allows gamers to vote every week on what they feel is the most wanted game in Japan. The top 5 of this past week included Final Fantasy XII at the number 1 spot, Dragon Quest VIII at the number 2 spot, Dragon Quest V at the number 3 spot, and Kingdom Hearts 2 at the number 7 spot.
