DRAKENGARD FIRST JAP. SALES FIGURES

Drakengard (Drag-on Dragoon) hit Japanese stores yesterday and apparently a sales figure has already been generated. Square Enix sent an initial shipment of 140,000 units apparently out of which 76,438 were sold amounting to 55.5% of the total.
The initial shipment does seem quite small, however, the game is new and does not hold the power of being part of the popular series of Square Enix. Plus, with gamers purchasing other games within recent times including Tales of Symphonia (by Namco) and Seiken Densetsu (Sword of Mana), Drakengard's sales numbers seem quite good.
These sales were generated in the game's first day on the market. The first few days of sales determine if the game does well or not. The game is set to come to North America early in 2004.
