SWORD OF MANA SALES DAY EVENT
Posted on 08.29.2003 by Sifar
Square Enix's Shinyaku Seiken Densetsu (Sword of Mana in the US) was released today at around 5:00pm (Japan time). By 7:51pm, the game sold around 87,491 copies which is 33.6% of the game's initial shipment. The sales can be considered low, however, one has to look at the fact that Namco's Tales of Symphonia for the GameCube was also released today. Sword of Mana's main selling point is at the Shibuya Tsutaya, an electronics retailer in Tokyo. For promotional purposes, Square Enix set up a 5'7" Cactus doll to attract customers. Not only that, Square also gave away limted edition cactus toys to customers.
