Rebels with a Cause: The Experiences of 'Rebel' Nurses
Resisting Against Psychiatry

Somebody who protests against something by defying authority.
Somebody who refuses to conform to the codes and conventions of society.
A panel of Registered Nurses shared their experiences with resistance
efforts during their careers. Discussion included: examples from the
field; arguments for advocacy and resistance efforts as congruent
with the Canadian code of Ethics for Registered Nurses; confronting
the label of rebel when applied to nurse activism; gendered, systemic
and professional barriers; and strategies for facilitating sustainable
resistance in nursing.
