For those of you who don’t know me my name is Ryan. I built this site to showcase my work and myself for my application to the Masters of Digital Media Program in Vancouver. I have a love for new and digital media and am constantly working to upgrade my skills and keep up to date on current trends.
I am a recent graduate and I have been working for a year at the University of Toronto – Division of University Advancement helping to build and maintain the new Alumni Community. Outside of work I do some freelance graphic and web design work (current projects: Budget Towing Markham, West Stand Casuals), I read (my books/magazines on the go: The Economist, Rant, Watchmen, World War Z, Wizard, Wired), I watch a lot of movies and I spend time on my Xbox.
While at school I was a part of the Communication Culture and Information Technology (CCIT) program. I specialized in Digital Enterprise Management an intensive group based study on current issues and trends in the digital industry. Through case studies, business planning and management training I was able to build my skills and develop a strong interest in new and innovative technologies and unique ways for marketing digital products. I added a Psychology minor to my Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in my last two years to explore my growing interest in Psychology. I managed to couple my seemingly divergent studies focusing on Perception and Ergonomics and their application to the digital world.
I am now at a point where I need to learn more, develop my skills and build strong industry connections to achieve my goals. I see myself as a producer/director in a video game or film/new media company, expanding on my entrepreneurial ideas through the development of a small company or continuing my education through to my PhD researching and teaching in the new media/technology field.
If all goes well I will be going back to school in September!
All work in this site(including the website design) was created by me. Any questions or comments can be directed to me.
