For Prospective Undergraduate Students:

We regularly have positions for undergraduates interested in performing research, during either the academic year (ROP299, MGY480, HMB499) or during the summer term (ROP299, UROP, HMB496). Strong candidates should have already taken relevant courses in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry and Genetics, and will ideally have some lab experience. To apply, please contact Dr. Claycomb directly by email (julie[dot]claycomb[at]utoronto[dot]ca). Your application should include an up to date CV and transcript, and a brief statement of your scientific interests (one paragraph maximum). It is best to apply late in the fall term/early in the winter term for research to commence in May.

For Prospective Graduate Students:

Click here to learn more about graduate studies in the Department of Molecular Genetics. In our Department, students are first admitted to the graduate program, and then perform 3 rotations in different labs to identify a best fit for their thesis lab. Most students begin in September, but some students opt to start in January. To apply to the department, you will need up to date transcripts, CV, letter of intent and letters of reference. Application deadlines are Sept. 15 (for January start), Nov. 15, Jan. 15, and May 1 (for September start). We are happy to host enthusiastic rotation students, and have plenty of great projects available. Email Dr. Claycomb if you are interested in a rotation (julie[dot]claycomb[at]utoronto[dot]ca).

For Prospective Postdocs:

To apply for a Postdoc position, please contact Dr. Claycomb directly by email (julie[dot]claycomb[at]utoronto.ca). Your application package should include an up to date CV, contact information for two scientific referees, and a statement of your research interests not to exceed one page. Postdoctoral applicants are not required to have funding prior to applying, but are generally expected to apply for and achieve external funding during their time in the lab.
