Sports and other recreational activities provide a pleasant break from my rigorous schedule. In addition to being an active athlete and a world traveler, I have been able to pursue my interest in sports through academic writing as well as in my capacity as Commissioner of a popular fantasy hockey league.

My Sports law writings include a brief introduction of the Alberta NHL Players Tax and a more in-depth critique of this government hockey initiative (co-written with respected Professor Donald J. Brean of Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto), entitled "Missing the Net: The Law and Economics of Alberta's NHL Players Tax".

Aldo Forgione was an inaugural sponsor of the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto, Canada. In the midst of the lockout by NHL owners that took place in the early 1990s, Aldo prepared a Constitution for a fantasy hockey league involving a group of professionals, businessmen and hockey enthusiasts. The Lockout League has thrived over the past ten years and the League continues to provide competitive amusement now that the second hockey lockout is over.
