Isselburg

The town of Isselburg is located 60 kilometres northwest of the city of Essen.

Since 1650 Wasserburg Anholt (Anholt Castle) has been the home of the Princes of Salm. The castle museum contains a portrait of King James III and VIII, as well as a portrait of his sister Princess Marie Louise. 1 Each painting is oval, measures 52 cm X 41 cm, and is a copy of a 1705 original.

The museum is open (entrance fee 5 euros) from May to September, Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00 a.m. - 5 p.m.; October to April, Saturday and Sunday, 11:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
