Lounge - West Island School (2003/4)
As part of the graphic design course, the task was to design and remodel an existing conference room into a lounge. The lounge was to be able to serve simple pastries and drinks, making a need to incorporate a kitchen into the design.

Despite the fantasy scenario, the project was conducted with much realism and seriousness. Considerable research was done to the site, on contemporary design of lounges, as well as the official requirements such as ergonomics and safety.

As well as interior design, the furniture was also considered in the design process. Results from the research revealed that it would be best to design unique chairs, tables and movable walls for the exclusive use of the lounge.

The final design was a spacious and comfortable lounge that could sit a small group of people. Chairs were designed so that they gave the impression of closure and warmth to visitors, and the room in general placed an emphasis on the privacy of individual parties.
