Photo Gallery

I came home from Georgia with ten rolls of film. I've interspersed pictures throughout the site where appropriate, but this is the most beautiful country I've ever been in, and I want to show you more of it. The photos are sorted by location; all are copyright 2006 to Vera Broekhuysen. They were taken with a Nikon FM10 and some have been edited with Adobe Photoshop 7.0.

When I indentured for a week to Dato Beraia, learning from him and the women who work with him how to make traditional Georgian carpets, I took photos of his pieces so that he could show them to prospective buyers who don't live close enough to come into his shop and talk to him. Julie and I are hoping to make an entire website for him, but in the meantime, I have made a section of this photo gallery dedicated to his carpets. His email is Rogava777@yahoo.com, and he will respond to communications in English (i.e. you don't need to know fluent Georgian to do business with him). Anyone interested in possibly buying one of his reasonably priced carpets should also feel free to get in touch with me, at vera.broekhuysen@gmail.com, if they want more information before they contact him.

Enjoy!
