Looking at medication from a user centered design perspective is intuitive because there is already a rich history of user testing required of pharmaceuticals to ensure their products do more harm than good.
Despite those good intentions, there are still noticeable shortfalls in the readibility of instructions, long term strategies for usage, and consideration of patient preference.
