A page about me... let's see – what to put here? There's not much, really, to tell. As I write this, I am in the final stages (I hope!) of my Master's thesis (M.A.Sc.). I am currently studying Industrial Engineering (Human Factors) at the University of Toronto. I got my undergraduate degree (B.A.Sc.) at the UofT as well, in Engineering Science (computer stream). Prior to that, I went to UTS (an excellent private/not-private/independent school, depending on whom you ask).
To be frank, dear visitor, I'm not quite sure what to write here – I was originally going to post a résumé here, but (touch wood) by the time this site goes live, I will have secured gainful employment for the start my post-educational career. (If you are still interested in reaching me, you can email me; I'll make sure to put up an email link as soon as I decide on which address to use as the generic one... :) Besides — although I have been approached based on resumes, it tends to be headhunters more than anyone else who approaches me... and I prefer dealing with companies directly. (There's no real reason behind this, it's just a personal preference.) Besides: I need to keep some cards up my sleeve... ;)
I would like to gear this page to whoever is reading it... to that extent, I need to figure out who would visit this place, who would be reading about me. The way I see it, there are two major possibilities. The first is that you don't know me at all, in which case (in theory) it doesn't matter what I put here, since our paths will likely never cross, and you won't be able either to confirm or disprove what I write. The second possibility (although I concede that this is more of a spectrum rather than an either/or scenario) is that you know me well. If such is the case, then I should be careful about what I write here, lest it contradict what you think you know about me. (Everyone presents a slightly different face to those around them, which means that everyone has a slightly different image of who I am...)
Let's start with the easy stuff. I was born in Toronto (Ontario, Canada), in September of 1978. (That makes me 24 years old as this goes to press, but given how often I update, it's easier to leave the calculation of my age to you, gentle reader.) I have lived a rather uneventful life (made moreso by my poor memory – I only remember a few random childhood moments).
So what's important in my life? Well, in rough chronological order, we have:
