Skiing!

Last Sunday we managed to take advantage of some free ski tickets at Steamboat Mountain (free courtesy of Subaru - nice, but it would sure be nice if they gave us our car instead). As it turns out, Steamboat is 3+ hour drive away from Fort Collins, so it was quite a trek. *Yawn* "Are we there yet?"

Since Steamboat is quite distance away, it was also not very busy at all - hardly any lift lines. The weather was fantastic and we had some fantastic snow. Here's some highlights of our day:

1. Here's some pics of Ernest during one of his more graceful moments (earlier he fell flat on his face while not moving and standing in front of the mid mountain cafeteria - he got up too quickly for it to be captured on film) -KL

2. Our picnic table lunch location complete with a fantastic view!

3. Kel and I near the end of the day.

Final note: we really need some new ski equipment. Some old couple mocked our old "straight" skis. Burn!
Anyways, Steamboat gets an 'A' from us. We're off to another mountain called Winter Park next, so hopefully we'll be able to make a comparison soon. -EL

Nissan Skyline GTR your family car?

Okay, before you read to far into things, no we're NOT pregnant.

I just stumbled across this on a Subaru forum and thought it was awesome. Late getting to the grocery store and have a 400 horsepower car at your disposal? Strapped hte kid into one of these and floor it...-EL

Game on!

I was a little concerned that I wouldn't be able to watch the Canadian men's olympic hockey games down here in CO, but MSNBC seems to be showing almost all the games (at least today they're showing all 6 games). Hurray for MSNBC! With 5 games in like a week, the schedule's going to be a little bit crazy though (today required a little effort to get up for the 5am start - sure wish I had TiVO right about now). -EL

Every city needs a 24hr outdoor rink

Nothing new to report these days. Work, eat, sleep, repeat. It's also 8 weeks, since we ordered our car and they dealership still hasn't recieved a shipment (I wonder which plant is producing the car: the one in Lafayette, Indiana or one of the plants in Japan - 'cause they win the award for slowest workers...ever!)

On a more happy note, I finally got around to exploring some of the campus and discovered that there is a fully lit rollerhockey rink right beside the school gym! Smooth concrete, proper nets, and full boards 24 hours a day (there's also basketball courts and beach volleyball courts as well). This totally kicks ass over UofT and SFU. Who would have guessed that a school in Colorado would have this sort of facility while Canadian univeristies don't.

On another rollerhockey note, even though I haven't found a league to play in, I found some sweet pants on clearance $40 - and well, coudn't help myself. Anyways, if you're in the market for some new pants, or just really like buying rollerhockey stuff, I think hockeymonkey.com still has some left.
