2000Although the mini album 'First Kaleidscope' wasn't popular in mainstream, they were soon discovered by GIZA LABEL and emerged as a mainstream J-POP group. In the following year, their debut maxi single 'Mysterious Eyes' (which was chosen as the opening song for the TV anime series 'Detective Conan') took the J-pop world by storm. Hot on heels, they released a string of singles which include "Kimi no uchi ni tsuku made zutto hashitte yuku" (I keep running till I reach your house), 'Sen ijou no kotoba wo narabete mo...' (Even lining up a thousand words), 'Futari no rocket'(Our Rocket), 'Natsu no maboroshi'(Summer Illusions) and 'Flying'. 'Natsu no maboroshi' was once again chosen as Detective Conan's ending song and 'Flying', on the other hand, was the theme song for the Playstation game - 'Tales of Eternia'. The extensive media influence pushed these two singles to great success and the year came to a brilliant closure for GARNET CROW. However, unlike most pop groups, GARNET CROW spent most of their time not on promotional activities, but on composing new songs. (This could become a major liability to their success obviously) |
