HK Day 3,4,5

I've been shopping for the last few days, mainly in Mongkok. Surprisingly, I went home with very little stuff! There are just too many shops at Mongkok! I spent an entire day shopping on ONE street which consisted only of sneaker shops! I was completely overwhelmed by the amount of shops and the incredible amount of people shopping all on one street! I think I should just buy whatever I want in the first shop I enter instead of going deal hunting lol. I found that I spent a lot on food since it is actually pretty cheap here. $6CAD got me a huge pork chop dinner with soup and dessert, not bad considering I was completely stuffed three quarters of the way though.

HK is CLEAN. I noticed it when I was making a trip on the Westrail (subway). At first I thought it was a little weird that there was no garbage on the ground, then I tried really hard to look for some litter but there wasn't even a scrap of paper! Apparently, there is a law against eating on the transit system and littering in public can result in a fine. Take note Toronto...although no eating on the bus/train might be going a bit too far.

BTW, the weather here is great. It has been around 20 degrees celcius and quite humid for the last few days. I'm guessing the weather in Toronto is probably...cold. Glad I'm here.

HK Day 2

Ahahah I now have access to all the asian junk food I love without having to pay the rediculous prices that are set in Canada. It is so convientent having a supermarket right under my apartment, all the food I want is 2 minutes away. My diet so far (besides the Xmas dinner) has been chips, "Selfheal Fruit-Spike Drink", ice cream dumplings, and many more unhealthy goodness.

Today was more of a siteseeing day since my mom was flanked by jet lag and wasn't taking it too well. With her at home my cousins and I went to play some snooker at the club, golf at the driving range, and hit the beach for an evening walk.

Dinner was with the family again. I realized that I was already getting sick of chinese food. There are too much vegetables and seafood...which I don't normally eat at home (although veggies I am forced to eat haha).

Cosmic bowling was next on the agenda. It was also very convinent becuase it was in the apartment facilities! I haven't bowled for so long I came out with sore fingers on both my hands.

Tomorrow will be the start of my shopping spree!

HK Day 1

Check it out, a blog update finally lol. Anyways, this entry is being typed in Hong Kong at the moment because that's where I am right now! This blogger site is actually in chinese and I'm having trouble figuring out what the buttons are...I already deleted this post twice clicking the wrong button.

The flight was long, I had a lot of trouble staying in my seat for 14 hours. I would have slept but I couldn't for some reason. By the time I reached HK, I had one hour of sleep. Add that to the time difference and what you get is servere jet lag. I'm adapting quite well actually thanks to this trip being right after my exam period where I've already been in "jet lag" mode for two weeks.

I met with my relatives after getting off the flight. It was nice meeting them again after so many years. It was also a bonus my uncle speaks good english, if it wasn't for him my life would be really difficult. At that point I was so tired that I could barely keep my eyelids open but I had a Christmas dinner to attend, so once again I turned to my friend Coffee for help.

The HK transit system is amazing, and I've only been here for one day. I swear, they have everything worked out. It runs beautifully, its like magic. TTC cannot even be compared to this.

I dropped in bed like a rock when dinner was over. After nine hours of sleep, I was (temporary) recharged. Day two here I come!
