Meet Ashutosh ...

Ashutosh Jha PhotoAshutosh graduated from Trinity College, University of Toronto, with a Software Engineering specialization in Computer science in 2006. Although trained in computer science, the challenges of Business always captivated him. After finishing his undergraduate degree he completed an intensive and unique short term business program called "Bridge to Business" from Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto in June 2006.

Ashutosh currently works at Accenture Inc. - a global management consulting, technology and outsourcing company. Previous to this, he worked as a Business-Systems Analyst at a entrepreneurial web technology firm in downtown Toronto. He has assisted a major Canadian technology start-up, with the implementation of several technical applications as summer intern for four terms. He is founding member of a company for providing complete integrated range of start-up shared services to small scale businesses, and co-founder of another company for social benefit. He has always taken an entrepreneurial approach towards work and strives to perform beyond given responsibilities though hard work and focused approach.

Ashutosh currently serves as the Director of Projects for the POA Educational Foundation, which takes initiatives to promote education, nurture entrepreneurship and strengthen civil governance. Ashutosh is co-founder of "Project Beyshick" that nurtures prosperity and financial independence amongst First Nations communities and individuals by encouraging and mentoring entrepreneurial efforts in Canada. 'Project Beyshick' and 'Project Beyshick Business/Career Plan Competition' are part of foundations' grand Social Venture Capital Fund (SVCF) initiative for first nations entrepreneurs. Ashutosh has co-founded, planned and implemented many other initiatives for the foundation that have had meaningful impacts on those those striving for a better future. The foundation takes entrepreneurial approach towards its initiatives. He has volunteered with several other organizations such as Frontier college and Learning to Integrate New Cultures (LINCC) in past.

Ashutosh is a member of the UNICEF Canada's India HIV/ AIDS Campaign ($3 million), and volunteers his time as Communications Advisor to the Canada-India Foundation. He is former Head of the Trinity College (University of Toronto), the central position in the leadership structure of the College. He was responsible to, and for, all students including ensuring that their voice is heard and heeded in both College and University processes. He has served as member of the Trinity College Board, executive member of the ICCC Young Professionals, Young Alumni Committee of Trinity College, Family Campaign Cabinet ($3 Million) and Trinity College Environment protection Committee in past. While at University of Toronto, he served as an executive on the Orientation Committee, co-founded the Technology Club and served as an advised to various student organizations.

In 2006-2007, Ashutosh was one of the thirty youth selected from around the globe to participate in the prestigious KNOW INDIA PROGRAMME (KIP) organized by the Government of India. The KIP was instituted recently to introduce a few select youth of Indian origin from all over the world to India's polity, economy and social life. As a participant he had the opportunity to travel to various states in India and understand the local Culture, Economy, Industry and Governance in much depth. During his trip he met various dignitaries from private and public sector, as well as national and State governments. Ashutosh had the privilege of serving as the leader of the group. Following this program, Ashutosh job-shadowed Ontario's Minister of Small Business and Entrepreneurship -  Hon. Harinder Takhar  - in Bombay, as part of Premier McGunty's 'Business Mission to India' .
