Dearest Venerable Yung Ku,

阿彌陀佛! It seems like only yesterday when we first started packing our bags and completed last minute projects for the Malaysia conference, but we are back now from the most amazing trip ever, thanks to you!

We would like to sincerely thank you and all of the other Venerables and Shi Ku's for planning the trip during the Christmas holidays...

Thank you for always being there for us whenever we needed you. Even when everybody was tired after a full day's worth of energy-consuming activities, you were our #1 fan at our dance practices. Your bright smile always cheered us up, regardless of whether it was at five in the morning, while lining up at Yun Zhu Lou for the morning chanting service in the main shrine, or late at night during the YAD executive's meetings.

You made it possible for us to experience many things that made the trip so worthwhile. We got to perform in front of five thousand people on New Year's Eve, have a talk with Ven. Yi Kung, meet Ven. Hsin Ting, participate in the evening chanting service with the Buddhist College students, watch the evening drum and bell service, and pay a visit to Taiwan's Tai Lu Ge. We tasted Taiwan's famous treats like the rice beverage, freshly made soya bean drink, and "sun biscuits," but soon realized that one of the sweetest things ever was to visit Ta Tzu Children's Home. You made sure we were fully equipped with everything - even if it meant supplying us with twenty-six rolls of film so we could take more pictures!

The list goes on and on, but most of all, thank you for encouraging us to pursue what we believed in. You gave us a chance to grow as a group, to make our own decisions, to taste the sweetness of success in the performances, and to learn from mistakes that we made too. You supported us whenever you could because you believed we had the ability to make things happen. You expressed your never-ending faith in us even when we - for some brief moments - doubted our potential. You let us be ourselves.

For all of these reasons and many more, we thank you from the bottom of our humble hearts. We discovered the "roots" of our beloved Fo Guang Shan because of your efforts. We will continue aspiring to carry out the Young Adult Divison mission of propagating Buddhism, and encouraging the youth to contribute back to society. We will try to make you proud of us: the leaders of tomorrow, we are the Fo Guang Youth - OH YES!
