Sabbatical Report 2019: Valais

A quick trip to Maine in December to talk about chocolate

U Maine- Orono

I gave a fun talk, "How a linguist thinks about chocolate," as a guest lecturer in Jane Smith's course From Cacao to Chocolat. [Here's the video.] This historical linguistics lecture had 3 parts:

Part 1: Enjoying all the chocolate... I mean data

Part 2: Thinking about how to digest all the chocolate... I mean data

Part 3: Testing the options to analyze the chocolate... I mean data

On the way home, we stopped for some winter wonder in Sugarloaf, Maine, and Orford, Quebec
