EXPERIENCE
Students' Administrative Council
Vice-President
External (2004-2005)
Last year Jennifer Hassum
ran as a candidate on the Progress Team with a very
specific platform. She has been able to come through on
all of Team Progress' platform goals - from running a
deficit free orientation, to delivering more clubs
funding. In addition to that Jennifer fought for and won
on-campus polling stations in the federal election, and
a decision from the TTC that the student metropass
discount was permanent. She heard students' voices of
concern about a proposal to put a luxury condominium
next to the ROM and spoke out to city council, helping
defeat the plan. Now Jennifer is ready to become the
Chairperson for your Students' Union.
Brought You More
TTC Metropass Sales Locations
Through SAC, Jennifer
was a key player in expanding the reduced-rate metropass
sales locations. There are now six sales venues across
the St. George Campus. The $87 metropass
is a great bargain for students, but the hour long
lineups are a hassle that students don't need. Next year
Jennifer will work on hiring more staff and expanding
debit machine use at these sales locations to speed up
the lines.
Former Queen's Park
Intern
Jennifer Hassum has
previously served as an intern at Queen's Park. With the
knowledge she gained of the ins and outs of the
provincial government, she has the experience to
advocate for our interests at City Council, Queen's Park
and Parliament Hill.
