  • Connections is an annual graduate student symposium in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Connections 2010 is the 6th. The objective of connections is to present ongoing research within the department and to provide an opportunity for industry and academia to network and build connections to enable future collaborations.

  • Attended organizing meetings to discuss, decide and vote on various issues during 8-month preparation period

  • Attended a specially designed training session on how to approach and contact potential business partners

  • Made timely schedule on assigned tasks and adjusted the schedule according to real-time changes of situation

  • Raised gold-sponsor funds from National Sciecne and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and silver-sponsor funds from the Emerging Communicationes Technology Institute (ECTI)

  • MaRS'CIBC Entrepreneurship Program is a workshop once a week lasting for one year. It is organized by MaRS and sponsored by CIBC, and designed to provide essential information for prospective and emerging entrepreneurs on how to start and grow a company, including finance, markets, hiring, intellectual property and more.

  • Learned marketing aspects of starting a business by watching lectures, panel talks and business plan competition. Lecture topics covered identifying competition status, developing marketing strategy, making business plan, protecting intellectual properties, getting money from venture capitals, hiring a team and etc.

  • Should the Discipline Counsel of the University of Toronto charge a student of academic dishonesty in the matter of the University of Toronto Code of Behavior on Academic Matters, the Tribunal, consisting of a lawyer chair, a faculty member and a student member, will attend the hearing on behalf of the campus community and make independent decision on penalties.

  • Attended hearing and made decision on penalties, effective after the University Governing Council approves

  • Consulted for administrative reviews on the Code of Behavior on Academic Matters
