Solidworks

The above graph shows a schematic design of illumination beam delivery onto a substrate of photosensitive materials. Various components and devices have been shown to form in the material by beam exposure of the illuminating beam.

wearable

The above graph shows a schematic design of wearable HMD for virtual reality and augmented reality purposes. Light emitted from a display chip is projected into an eye to form an image. In addition, the 50/50 filter allows real world objects to be seen by the same eye. Therefore, the human eye is seeing augmented reality with artificial features generated and controlled by the micro-array display on the side.

Zemax

The above graph shows a singlet lens design process. The design requirements are: Focal Length = 50 mm; F/# = 5; Semi-Field-Of-View (SFOV) = 4 degrees; Wavelength: 632.8 nm (HeNe); Center Thickness (c.t.) of the singlet: 2 mm < c.t. < 8 mm; Edge Thickness (e.t.) of the singlet: e.t. > 2mm; To be optimized for smallest RMS Spot Size averaged over the field of view, respectively, at the given wavelength; Object is at infinity. The final design for the singlet lens is R_front = 30.4665, Thickness = 8 mm, R_back = -151.6532 and the distance from this surface to the image plane is 45.0815 mm.

virtual

The above graph, adapted from M. Ozaki et al., Science 332, 218 (2011), shows a demonstration of a holographically reconstructured apple with a green leave, representing a promising direction for the next generation of 3D display.

  • Spectral characteristics of light sources:

Emission or transmission light spectrum over telecommunication wavelength range (upper figure) and the complete visible wavelength range (lower figure), which could be a useful tool to spectrally characterize LED/LD sources used in virtual reality display.

spectrum

The above graph shows emission light spectra measured for a cascaded LED source (upper figure) and for polymer film transmission (lower figure) at 0 (blue), 0.25% (red) and 0.3% (green) pho-initiator concentrations and its fluorescent signal (cyan), representing a key component of light source characterizations.
