CliffyB.com

Game Designer... Level Designer... Philosopher... this is how Cliff Bleszinski of Epic Games, Inc describes himself. Despite his success working on the Unreal Tournament games, CliffyB is still a down to earth guy. CliffyB.com is his site where he blogs about whatever is on his mind. Always worth a visit to see what Cliff has to say on an issue.

He also has some links in the FAQs section for aspiring game designers on how to avoid getting into trouble in the business, and tips for people who are currently designing maps for Unreal Tournament or any other game.

SShock2.com

A fan related website for the System Shock 2 game. Despite being an older game, this action/horror game was one of the most notorious for scaring the crap out of gamers. Scripted events, such as the satellite reciever randomly exploding at the start of the game led to this.

The website itself serves as a hub for the remaining System Shock 2 community. The site itself holds user-made files for the game itself, such as patches to removed the cursed Annelid Spiders from the game. After facing off against one of those things, you's wish you had downloaded that patch.

The game itself may be rare these days, but if you can get your hands on it, then this website will become your best friend.

Unreal Tournament

Unreal Tournament

The official site of the Unreal Tournament games. Unlike many other first-person shooters (FPS), Unreal Tournament is not a realism game, like many others in this genre. Instead, it is a more futuristic FPS, with unique weapons, such as the Shock Rifle, which fires high-energy lasers; or the Redeemer, which fires a thermo-nuclear warhead at your opponents. Always a blast.

The latest incarceration of the game is Unreal Tournament 2004, which takes a supercomputer to run. However, if you can get it running with the settings maxed out, the game is awe-inspiring.

As well, with many gametypes, and a community fanbase that is always producing new maps and modifications for the game, Unreal Tournament looks to be a game that will be a favourite for some time to come.
