Who are the Big Four?"

The four largest international accounting firms, collectively known as the Big Four, are Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) . All four have annual revenues exceeding US$3 billion and professional staff of about 100,000 strong worldwide. Attending their info sessions, our upcoming events as well as FACS Day will provide you the occasion to network with representatives from each of these firms.

Are there other accounting firms other than the Big Four in the GTA?"

Yes, there are other national, regional and local firms, at which a CA candidate may fulfill his experience requirement. Some mid-sized firms include Grant Thornton, Fuller Landau, and Soberman. A complete list of offices designated by the ICAO to train CA candidates is available by clicking here.

When does recruiting season

start?"

Recruiting season for both full-time and internship positions at the Big 4 Firms start as early as the first week of September. This usually includes an info session followed by a submission of your cover letter, resume and transcripts. If selected, you will be granted an interview in mid-October. Recruiting season at mid-size accounting firms varies depending on the firm.

What is an Information Session?"

Most firms sponsor an Information Session in September prior to their (job) application deadlines because it is the best way to provide students with pertinent information about the company and opportunities available. It is also the best way for you to have your questions addressed.

An information session is usually held in the following format:

Welcome reception
Introduction and Information about the firm, and its opportunities
Mix and mingle with firm representatives, partners, recruiters and past summer students.

The dress code is usually Business Formal. Attendance at Information Sessions is extremely helpful to a hopeful candidate. A complete list of Information Sessions will be available during recruiting season on our Upcoming Events page.
