Please be patient, there are a lot of photos on this page, so it may
take awhile to load.
PARIS (cont'd)
L'Opéra Garnier, the old opera house of Paris. This was where Degas painted his ballerinas, and where The Phantom of the Opera is set. Again, I'm very proud of the crispness of this shot, especially considering the subdued lighting.
More photos from the Opera House (I have the below photos in uber-high resolution, just email me). The left photo is of the ornate candelabras flanking the marble staircase, the right photo is of the chandelier inside the auditorium, with a lovely fresco by Marc Chagall on the ceiling.

An unmistakably Parisian scene: a jazz band playing on Pont St-Louis, the pedestrian bridge which connects l'Île St-Louis to l'Île-de-la-Cité.
The Moulin Rouge, which really is smack in the middle of the red-light district.
Me at the Louvre, with I.M. Pei's elegant glass pyramid behind me.
One slice of Paris, as seen from the Arc de Triomphe.
Another shot of the Eiffel Tower from the Alexandre III bridge. This is one of my favourite shots.
