The Philosopher's Toolbox

Project status for my collection of websites.

Hi there. Not seeing this page in a two-column layout? Perhaps your browser doesn't support web standards (or you've turned style sheets off). Don't worry. The content of this page is accessible to any browser or internet device. However, to get the full 2-D effect simply turn style sheets on, or upgrade your old browser to one which supports web standards. I'm putting together a quick template for a friend who wants to share his research, has no experience with html, and can't run Radio. In an effort to make it simpler for him to maintain and maximize the number of browsers it would render correctly on I tried a simple table-based layout to lock down the structure. But it just wasn't worth it. Using tables for structure and css for format presents its own problems, not to mention the fact that the layout still looks like hell in 4.x browsers, and the design degrades badly (but you can't make the problems go away by turning off the style sheet). Egad! And all those ascending and descending TR and TD tags make me woozy. The Web Standards Project was right about bad browsers. Never again.
