Hmm. The Web Standards Project was right about bad browsers, but even the good one's aren't quite there yet. I decided to remove the tables, since the site is so simple, but a 'transitional' layout might be the way to go in future versions, especially if I decide to share it as a template. Looks like even Zeldman thinks the 'transitional' table/css approach has merit, as he argues here. Such a reasonable man.
