Business
Card - Hong Kong Students at the University of Toronto
(2005)
A new academic year signaled the need for a new business
card design for the executive team at the Hong Kong
students society at the University of Toronto. The business
card was to be easily recognizable and is to be associated
with the cultural roots of the student society.
The
solution was a simple design that used a limited palette
of colours. Red, to symbolise the Chinese heritage and
white to represent a contemporary vision. Colour is
further used to differentiate between the different
elements of the card, using clear contrasts to highlight
the names, titles and contact information.
The
sole graphical element of the card existed in the form
of the Chinese character of harbour, often associated
with the words Hong Kong. Much of the card is left with
white spaces to give it a clean and simple character.
It also serves a practical use by leaving space for
notes to be written on the card.
