Singing Contest - Hong Kong Students at the University of Toronto (2006)
Traditionally the largest event of the year, the Singing Contest organized by the Hong Kong Students at the University of Toronto needed an attractive poster design to attract potential contestants into signing up for the event.

An eye-catching array of purple stripes was used to create the attraction and the background of the poster. It acts as the most attractive section of the design, and also as a base for the text to sit on. The division between the information of the contest and the sponsors list is also created by this background design. A musical note announces that the poster is for an event related to music. The poster was also used as an advertisement in a local newspaper.

The same design was used for the information pamphlet that was to be handed out to the audience on the actual day of the event. This creates a sense of organization, achieved through the coherency of the design.
