December 29, 2004.It's almost the end of the year and I am already starting to think of my New Year's resolutions. I am pretty sure about one of them which will involve not leaving a month's worth of calculus material for the Christmas break and other similar things. I am still figuring out where and how I will be celebrating the New Years, but hopefully this year I can come up with something fun. So far there was lots of fun during this break, so I hope New Years won't let me down either. I have also updated my to-read list here and now it looks more of like the size it's supposed to be. I can never catch up with my to-read list because for every book I read I tend to find two more I would like to read. Plus the funny thing is that I often pick up and read books that are not on my list, but just sort of came into my view on my visit to the library and that doesn't make my list any smaller either. I also hope I might be able to get some reading done during the school year, though the chances of that are pretty slim considering that I always end up having too much school work and considering all the math I'll have to deal with next term, I doubt I'll have time for fun books. Otherwise there was not much happening this week. Today Victor is returning from BC, so I guess I'll see him around pretty soon. Otherwise I spent a lot of time with Daly during the Christmas weekend and most of the Monday we spend playing Dungeon Seige which can be pretty fun though horribly time consuming. I think my character is level 60 or so by now... Or was it 90? I don't remember anymore, but I am strong :). December 21, 2004.Well, I finally got rid of my old design, which is a very very good change indeed. For now I am happy with the new one I made, though I am by no means sure that this satisfaction would last. We shall see. In any case it's good to feel that I finally have time to do things I've been planning to do for so long. I have finished all my exams on Friday, so now I am free as a bird and a pretty happy bird too at least till they post our marks. The exams went ok I suppose, but it could surely be better, there wasn't a single easy exam this year and some (like stats) were actually harder than I thought they would be. Well, it's all over now. This week is pretty busy for me. I worked on Monday most of the day and then went to Chapters which was fun. I picked up some books and also sat there and read for awhile which was quite enjoyable. My manager gave me a Christmas present which consisted of a box of chocolates and a cheque for $25. So much for the Christmas bonus, lol. Ah well, at this time of the year any money coming in is good. Dr. Lo also gave me a present which is some strange maple sauces which I am not sure if I am brave enough to actually try eating. While shopping this weekend I also received a new backpack as a present from Daly's mom, which was very timely since my backpack has been worn to holes. Tonight I am planning to go to Patrick's LOTR party where we are supposed to watch the extended edition of the Return of the King. It's gonna be long, but it will be fun to chill with people that I haven't seen for awhile. Also tomorrow night, Apple and I put together a movie and a dinner sort of scheme and are going to watch Aviator. DiCaprio IS kinda cute :). Well, I still have a few things to be done today, so hopefully I'll come to blog later and stop abandoning my blog so much. December 13, 2004.I wrote a blog and then decided not to post it. Damn I am good at this keeping stuff to myself. Yes, I think I'll post this and make you all imagine what was so interesting that I didn't post it. Ain't I evil? November 15, 2004.Whoa, I haven't blogged in such a long while! I've been meaning to, but all this midterm stuff really got in the way. In fact a lot of the time I felt that I didn't even have time to talk to people on MSN as much as I'd like to, but I am hoping it will be better now. The good news is that all the midterms are over. The bad news is that exams will be coming pretty darn soon.So what is new since the last time? Well, I've decided to quit my job starting next term so that I won't have to kill myself trying to do all the school work in the evenings. I like my job, but I am hoping to find something better this summer *crosses fingers*. It would really help to get some experience with anything even remotely computer-related and at the very least I could get a receptionist job that pays better. I spent most of the last week stressing over my Calculus test and it ended up being pretty difficult, but I think I did well enough for the level of preparedness I was in. I hope the mark won't end up being totally horrible. It happens a lot: when I think I did something well it will end up disappointing me and vice versa. We shall see. This weekend I spent some time doing nothing and reading random blogs that random people write. It was pretty entertaining (because I skipped all those that were discussing Bush and US elections). Overall I'd say the most popular topic for blogs was relationships. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, I mean it seems pretty relevant though a few blogs surprised even me. One was because I noticed that the person who was talking about the boyfriend was himself a guy (a gay one I would imagine) and another was a guy who was 14 and talked about this girl in every single post. WoW. It also surprised me how open people were about that stuff, pretty interesting to read actually. Though I guess it's a weird thing to do to read about people you don't know... but who cares, I am weird already, it can't hurt to be a little more so :D. But in general nothing much happens around here and now that I don't have school work to occupy 24/7 I actually have time to wonder where the hell did my life disappear to and why don't I ever do anything fun anymore. I think I'll start an investigation, I'll let you all know when I figure it out, but I guess it's just good night for today. |
