January 25, 2004.

Well, another weekend is almost over and as typical I haven't done any school work so far. I suppose it doesn't matter since the only thing due next week is the problem set, which hopefully I can do within one week's time.

I had a pretty good day on Friday though it was really cold that day. Daly came to university with me and we played pool at HH. I beat him 1 of 3 games (WooHoo!). Then I went for the badminton practice thingie and they let Daly play badminton there with everyone else though he wasn't registered. We played some games with Mike and Julius who were also there. After the practice, Mike, Daly, and I went to some viet restaurant... I was not impressed with their food because when I ordered chicken and rice, they gave me a very thin strip of chicken and loads of rice... I wanted more meat and less rice!

I spent the rest of the evening at Daly's house and then stayed overnight as well. In the morning Daly got an e-mail from Ottawa that he got the coop job there with Bell Sympatico. He accepted the job and now he is moving to Ottawa on Tuesday *sad*. Well, that's about it...

Today was a pretty good day albeit cold. I guess the contrast with really cold weather wore off and now I am freezing again though it's only -5 degrees or so. I am really hoping for an early spring though. I know it's too early to be thinking of spring, but wishes don't hurt anyone :).

I was in a mathy mood this morning, so I even wished we had two hours of math instead of one... I don't expect anyone understand it, but it does happen to me and I really feel like learning this stuff sometimes. We are doing integrals right now and it's pretty easy so far. Sean (my prof) just explained the difference between definite and indefinite integrals and I like to learn stuff that I can easily understand, hehe.

I had an amazingly healthy lunch today consisting of a coffee, 10 chocolate timbits, an apple cinnamon Nutri-Grain bar, and some grapefruit juice. I spent the lunch at Hart House as I've been doing since this term started though today only Matt was there, so we had lunch together and I guess just got to know each other better, which was definitely nice.

After lunch I had my CS lab which was really easy. This time I've got paired up with a Russian guy and we just sat there and made fun of my TA in Russian. I think she has something against me because she was trying soo hard to find some mistakes in what I wrote and the things she said made no sense either, lol. I really don't know what's up with her, but one thing I am hoping is that she won't enforce the rule she made the first day about switching partners every lab. There seems to be quite a few people there I wouldn't want to ever be paired up with and just switching all the time seems like an annoying thing to do.

I went to Daly's house after school and spent a couple hours there. It is so nice to be able to visit him whenever I want now. I don't have to wait for a weekend and take a bus all the way down to Waterloo. On the other hand, I might be soon taking train to Ottawa instead since Daly had an interview for some job in Ottawa today. If I were they, I'd take him, but then he would have to go so far away... I have mixed feelings about that.

I have to read Robinson Crusoe by Thursday, but I just realized that maybe it isn't as bad as I thought because I found out that the book I've got from the library includes a second book about Robinson Crusoe. I don't think I am gonna read it and finishing the first book is very doable in the next two days. Ah, well, I better be going to bed now or I might not be able to get out of house without 5 cups of coffee tomorrow. Farewell!

Well, for a monday it wasn't too bad. I think I'll agree with my horoscope from "24" -- Today is an 8. The day wasn't bad at all and not particularly hard. I had my two CSC classes that were pretty easy. I giggled through CSC 165: "You are male iff you are making between 35K and 55K". The easies class ever at the moment.

Other than the class time I spent my lunch and then another couple hours after the classes chilling with Ainsley and Patrick in the Great Hall... Nelson and William also joined us for lunch. (To experience the fact that HH pizza is cold and tough as a shoe). We had a fun time racing to solve the crossword, though eventually we just did the crossword together.

Later in the day Ainsley and I explored the stairs leading to the restaurant upstairs and they seemed really cool! The restaurant looked really comfy too, but apparently it's really really expensive. I am also proposing a scheme to go skating, which hopefully will happen sometime soon. I really want to go this winter!

Also, I didn't spend the time home doing nothing yesterday. I went to my bf's and that was actually fun (surprise, surprise). We bought lots of tasty food and made a milkshake out of vanilla ice cream with butterscotch ripple and pop. Apparently that's called afloat (Accroding to informational sources, namely Patrick). In any case it was really good!

I also added some Fanlisting to the page, but I didn't bother making the links yet. I am just enjoying the pictures. So let's hope for a good tomorrow as well. Gotta go sleep now. Good luck to all those working on A1 this night (i.e. Mike).

Usually a weekend goes by so fast that I don't have time to blink an eye and it's gone, but this one seems to go on and on and on. It's strange. The universe is against me. It is a very mean rule I must say that the weekends I enjoy fly by, while those boring days with nothing to do linger. Evilness.

I guess I am not having the weekend of my life. Not that anything bad happened, but it's just really boring. I think it also must seem so long to me because I skipped the school on Friday and made Friday part of the weekend. But Friday was not the problem as I spent about 16 hours out of 24 there is sleeping. Yep, I was pretty tired that day. Saturday, on the other hand, lasted forever. There was really nothing to do, other than neverending school work, and of course and I didn't feel like doing that. So I just moped around, watched TV, ate all the cookies in the house, and read a bit. Things started to pick up on Sunday though as everyone came online around 12:30am. Yes, that's the best time to talk to people and often it seems the only time there are people online. Now, my resolution is continue today as well as it started. I am positive I am going to go and do something now. I'll come back to let you know whenever something exciting happens in my life.

Oh, yeah, also check out the new links page. I am welcoming any suggestions for additions there.

So, I am unreliable in updating this web site... What else is new? The school has started again and thus I am back to endless studying. It's only the end of the second week and I already had a bonus part of an assignment due and a Calculus test. The calculus test did not go all that well... I couldn't make myself to study and then I spent way too much time on the easy questions on the test, so I didn't even have time to really try the last question. Hopefully, I can still get an A *crosses fingers and toes*. Ah, well, what's done is done.

The break itself did not go all that badly. I did not do all that much because everyone seemed to cancel on me... bad people, you know who you are... but I've got my rest and that was definitely good. Nothing exciting seemed to happen and I could barely think of new years resolutions. My main one is to pull through with an 80 average to renew my Aiming for the Top scholarship. That would be a great help with paying my deregulated computer science fees next year.

It's so cold outside, and this sort of weather makes me really wish I lived on campus so I wouldn't have to go so far every day in the cold. The past few days had me freezing to death and I can tell you, that's not fun. Really.

Fortunately, I've found a new good place to hang out: The Great Hall in Hart House. The best feature of this huge room is that it has a fireplace in it that is usually lit and so you can sit quite close to the fire and warm up. It's quite pretty too. I think I am going to spend quite a bit of time there.

Yesterday, I spent about 6 hours in that room because I had to wait and study for calculus test. Well, at least I sure had the waiting part done. To motivate ourselves to study, Ainsley and I brought some junk food, which was a pretty good idea I think (though I made a mistake of buying my stuff at 7/11 and paying 3 dollars for a bag of chips). Ainsley brought marshmallows and we tried roasting them on chopsticks. It was fun, but not a very successful venture I might add. Well, it's all good.

Today, I barely went through the day as very little interesting happened. The only good part of the day was lunch (wow, that sounds as if I am back in high school). I went home right after my lit class and this is like the earliest I've got home on thursday that I ever remember. Usually I have to do the problem sets or at least I stay to hang out with someone. This weather though made me run right home (nice hot tea served here). Well, we'll see how often I can keep up with updating the site.

P.S. I am reading the Blades of Tyshalle by Matthew Woodring Stover. It's a great violent fun book. Recommended.
