Jan 26th '05 (01:05p.m.) : One year anniversary! : Happy Birthday Dad!
Before anyone starts attacking me for the lack of update here, just let me say last week was pretty much wasted away because of this sudden flu thing I got. It wasn't a pretty sight, in fact even now (now being Feb. 1st, I know I should change the month, but I can't be bothered to miss the occasion of writing something to celebrate the one year anniversary for my blog!) I haven't fully recovered yet, but at least it doesn't hurt to breathe anymore, which is good. Anyway, so last week I end up doing nothing, except on Wednesday which I rose out of bed at six in the morning to finish writing a paper that was due on the same day (those were the hardest 500 words I have ever written), then the weekend I mostly just played Halo 2 and, that's it, that was my week last week. Actually, I lied, I also saw a friend whom I haven't seen for almost a year and went to see a play production by the Varsity Christian Fellowship. Why did I go see a play on the gospels of Mark on a friday night? I don't know, if I knew my friend was going to bring me to this play, I wouldn't have agreed to go in the first place! Suffice to say, I got duped. But whatever, it was nice seeing him nonetheless, as well as learning that he has been engaged with his girlfriend for over a year now! Talk about wow. Saturday I went to a music concert organized by the UT Faculty of Music, which a friend of mine is part of. Again, why did I go? I don't know. Just for the sake of going, I guess. He was acting funny and cranky on stage though, the whole time he was fixing his tie and fanning himself with his suit; we all thought the beer he had during intermission was the cause of his sudden maltemper. One of us did cheer him up by yelling out really loud "Sho Rocks!" Priceless!
Anyway, it has been a year since I first started writing on here! It's sort of amazing because I didn't think it would actually last this long! I always thought half way through the year I would get bored of the concept and just scrap the whole site for good, but next I know, I am already here, one year! My first ever entry was concerning God and religion, and most of January was essentially dedicated to the topic. Interesting how that just disintegrated and this site just became a place for me to write down the happenings of my life; mostly just rants but whatever, it's better than talking about religion I suppose. Looking back, there had been some great memories, some of the people I have mentioned on this blog don't even go to the school anymore, so I guess this is my way of remembering them now. Anyhoo, it has been great, and if you're still reading this blog, I commend your continous support and undying love for me! There will be more writing!!
By the way, I also set-up a new MSN space known as the Tiger Galaxy . I will use it primarily to post pictures and such; catch me there!

Jan 20th '05 (01:05p.m.) : My great love for Asian music
So I have been listening to Mika's new song "Sakurairo Maukoro", roughly traslates to (according to Babel Fish and a little interpretation of my own, and it isn't a direct translation meaning I didn't translate it word for word) "When the Cherry Blossom Falls", for about an hour and a half now. It's a very, very nice song. I just have a stronger affinity to Asian music over everything else, probably because I am Asian despite the way I act and talk; anyone would probably think I was born in Canada if they ever hear me talk, in English, of course. Regardless, some say I only listen to Asian music and nothing else. Well, I think my ethnicity is the come back to that statement, as well as the fact that I pretty much grew up listening to these songs. I guess people assumes that I am so white-acting that my taste in music should be broader or something, but in the end, I am an authetic Chinese who was born outside the country and immigrated to Canada when I was 11; you wouldn't go up to a group of exchange students and ask them why they only listen to music of and other musical influences to their own countries now would you? <- Asian smiley, I found a bunch of them this morning while I was surfing the web, pretty cool huh?

Jan 15th '05 (03:44a.m.) : KATAMARI!!!
I just spent the last six hours playing Katamari Damacy with my friends, and I tell you, what an addictive game it is!! The gameplay and idea is relatively simple: you roll a 'katamari' around and collect as many objects as you can, from tiny rats to gigantic islands, and even clouds, and eventually form the stars of the universe. It's a great game, well worth the time; but now I'm very tired, and sleep I go.

Jan 8th '05 (03:24a.m.) : Me have DDR! : Happy Birthday Kim!
Finally I bought Dance Dance Revolution at the gamestore today, I am happy! Actually I don't know, maybe I'd be even happier if I had gotten World of Warcraft instead; but, a deal's a deal, I said if I couldn't find DDRMax by tonight (Saturday) I would buy WoW. Well, I think we all know what happened from there eh? I'm very tempted to play it now but I suppose it is late at night and I have to be considerate of the people living below me, including my friend Kim, who actually came up to tell me the thumping gets very loud downstairs. Overly sensitive of him or the truth, I will have to find out later. I think I will still buy WoW once I start working again next week, once I get another pay-cheque coming my way. Then I will quit my job and just let the game suck my soul away!! Forget about school, forget about work, it's all about Warcraft baby!
Oh, and I will become Canadian citizen on the 18th of January.. finally!

Jan 6th '05 (08:37p.m.) : It's a new year
We're already in year 2005. In two years, my younger brother will be entering university and I'll be out of school! Everyone is getting old it seems, heck, my other only girl cousin (on my mom's side) is entering secondary next year, yet she doesn't seem to me of that age; she is still the little brat I have always known her to be haha. Over the Christmas break my friends and I were discussed over a late lunch the a similar topic, how the age difference between ourselves and our cousins / relatives is not as apparent now. My friend was saying how she used to dislike her cousin before, but now that they're older, she was able to engage in intellectual and meaningful conversations with him. Time is such a funny thing, it reminds me of Big Fish, of the little girl's conversation with Ewan McGregor, how their age difference wouldn't be as obvious as time goes by, she will be 18 when he's 28, 28 when he's 38, so on and so on.
The new semester is pretty good, I think I'll enjoy Architecture & Urbanism Baroque Europe most, the professoressa is the most enthusiastic teacher I have had yet in university. Plus she is not big on reading so for once I'll have minimal amount of reading to do for a class, in art history! Is that great or what huh? Anyway, so far the new year is looking good, hopefully the year ahead shall be a peaceful and exciting one, and Mother Nature be kind to us all.
