Jun '21 (03:33p.m. : HK Time) : Lunch @ Mc'D
For those of you who care enough to read my blogs, you would've noticed my past three entries on the MSN one are all written in Chinese. But why you may ask. It's not because I have met numerous HK people through my internship and therefore I have the need to write in Chinese. The reason is as simple as the fact that I think better in my mother tongue, and I can use less but more descriptive words to recite a situation/story/whatever. I have mentioned before how I have lots that I want to write down in this blog, but often when I try to find a way to piece it all together coherently, by the time I have it figured out I have lost the will to write it. Whereas in Chinese, words come more easily and I don't need to play connect the dots like I do with English. Anyway, I don't think it's such a big deal, but I suppose an explaination would resolve some of your confusions. About translating my MSN entires into English, I have thought about that, but then gave up on it because I don't think I would be able to translate exactly as it was written, with all the same meaning or humor. So that's that, who knows what will happen eh?

I am slowly eating more Mc'D as time goes, and I believe there will be even more Mc'D eating starting 30 June because like all previous summers, Mc'D has these little exclusive collectables (dolls, figurines, keychains etc etc) for sale. Right now they also have 5 new desserts: Iced Mocha Shake, Passionfruit and Green Apple McFloats, and Red bean and Mango Sundaes. They're not original, but just more choices. Meh.

Jun '19 (01:50p.m. : HK Time) : Finish~
So 17 June finally came crashing through the door, made some noise and officially marked the end of the summer internship at PwC. Overall it was a great experience. Let's just say working in a big firm is quite fun because you often get to meet new people, through different assignments or simply by sitting at the office the whole day without anything to do (which I endured, on occasions) Yesterday after I packed and cleared everything with my department's administrator and the HR department, I met up with some people from work and had some food then watched Batman Begins. T'is a good film, I do recommend seeing it, and Christian Bale made a good Batman.

Next week I can start sleeping-in again, sweet !!

Jun '11 (06:40p.m. : HK Time) : 5 embarrassing facts from work
01. On the first day, while replicating some files from the server onto my laptop before going to the client's office, I noticed the laptop battery was slowly reaching 5%, instinctively I knew I ought to plug in the power adapter, but I was too stupid and slow to actually do so. In the end the laptop turned off before the replication was complete. At that point I believe one of the seniors probably thought I was really dumb.

02. On the way to the client's office one morning, I took the wrong exit from the MTR station, and had to walk a long way back to the client's location. It was a hot day mixed with a bit of rain, and by the time I got to the client's office, my shirt was soaked in sweat. When one of the seniors came back, he asked if I had been under the rain for a long time...

03. Again on the way to work, since my client's office's at Quarry Bay, the fastest route would be Home->Ferry->MTR->Client. That morning, as soon as I stepped into the ferry dock, my right shoe came apart. Shocked. Embarrassed. Mad. I have gone too far to return home to exchange another pair, and so I continued. It wasn't so bad at first, but of course, what good would it be if there isn't more to the story. By the time I arrived at the MTR station, it literally fell apart. Shocked. Embarrassed. Mad. x10. Frankly there was a point where I felt like breaking something, unfortunately there was nothing around me. In order to continue, I had to undo the shoelaces and use it as a binder to tie the bottom and top parts of the shoe together. It seemed to work at that point in time, although eventually the shoe couldn't hold anymore and fell apart after I arrived at the end ferry dock on route home. I was so pissed I threw the shoe away and walked home with one shoe and one sock. Wet ground too.

04. Going home from the second client's office from Sheun Wan. I got on the tram and followed my dad's advice to get off near Wing On Centre to catch the 115 Citybus. Half way through I decided to hop off the tram because I didn't know why. I thought "there's still a bit of distance from Cheung Kong Center (one of PwC's offices)" so I started walking towards CKC. Sure, there was the 115 bus stop, however, there were also 3 other stops on my way. Conclusion: I walked extra distance because I was so focused on getting to the bus station near CKC I didn't realize I could've saved myself some walking time.

05. Training. A question was asked from the instructor, talking about objectives and goals of companies: "What would be an objective from McDonald's?" Nobody was going to answer, including me, except she was semi-looking at me, therefore I felt like I ought to give an answer. And I said: "To sell food to customers?" Her reply, half-laughing, so was the class: "Sell food to customers only? No, that's too low and simple of a goal. Anyone else?" Haha. I thought that was funny too; a little embarrassing.
