september '25 : 0117 : tilt ya head back love for zombies!
i went to the floor meeting today, and man was i surprised! not that fact that there were, roughly speaking, fifteen people attended out of the supposed thirty-seven people we have on the floor. for those not familiar with the sorbara hall first floor plan, the floor is actually separated into two sections; apparently we needed a little walkway in the middle of the building for other pedestrians. i was surprised to the fact that we have a rather detail-oriented but dense [i refuse to use the word stupid here because he's not; he's a fourth year astro-physics student eh] treasurer for the floor. instead of what could've been a short maybe five minute meeting, he made it thirty, by going through in details of all the rules and regulations of the house fees. apparently we get banned from attending any events with the sister floor if we don't pay within four weeks of the due date. oh no, i'm definitely going to pay my house fee now, wouldn't want to be banned from the sister floor events now would i..? right.. as if anyone really cares anyway.
after the meeting a couple friends and i went to teashop 168 for dinner [avoiding fish fridays at the canada room] it was good dinner, although not everyone was pleased with their meals eh. afterwards we watched shaun of the dead [a british film advertised as a romantic comedy with zombies] good fun it was. imagine walking through the streets and beating slow-moving zombies on the head with a bat or shovel, wouldn't that be cool? well, maybe not so much in reality, but perhaps a cool new change to existing zombie games like resident evil. speaking of video games, the annual tokyo game show has started, as well i learned about the new playstation 2 system sony will be releasing sometime in december today. basically it's the same idea they did for the playstaion, where they'll release a new 'slim-down' version of the system. i think it's a cool idea, now if microsoft follow suit and do the same for the xbox?
good christmas gift idea, eh eh?
september '22 : 0302 : oceania i should get some sleep eh
it's three in the morning and i said i would go to sleep two and half hours ago. clearly i lied. well not entirely, i was actually going to sleep until i just somehow decided to listen to bjork's new album medulla. i never really cared about bjork, i knew something about her eccentricity and her strange music and that's about it. oh, and she performed at the opening ceremony of the athen's games not long ago, and i liked that song "oceania" so i downloaded the album. so i was listening, ready to sleep, then i listened to it more closely, and realized there was no music in the background, just vocals. that was absurd, but in a kinda funny and interesting way. then i decided to find out more about bjork and went onto her official site. frankly i'm quite impressed by its content, it's pretty informative and all [unlike most other artists] so then i downloaded all other bjork's albums. i think i might have become a bjork fan. funny.

september '16 : 2149 : superwoman how evil are you?
so school has started for a week now and i'm quite enjoying it really. most of my classes seem fairly interesting; i know altarpieces in italy sounds lame as a class but the professor makes us discuss art pieces with our peers, which helps meeting new people i suppose. intro to mythology is my favorite, although it's mostly going to focus on the trojan war, there'll still be many myths and stories to talk about. now if only i can remember the whole genealogy chart by next week. oh and read book one to six of the iliads. huh. i am not a fan of the professor for roman historical art, but the class is rather thought-provoking, and the professor seems to know what he's talking about. the class i have yet gone to is art and theory; the course name intimidates me, i hope it doesn't bite too hard.
while not so busy studying and reading the iliads, i happened to come across an interesting game through some friends. check it out at how evil are you? there's even a demo! w00t!
september '11 : 0000 : two occasions : happy birthday tawny, and ken! good times, all the time!
september '08 : 1318 [pacific] : heart of gold and moving on..
summer has officially ended people. that's right, school's back, time to eat books and spit out essays again [or just live away from home, meh] but for me, i will have couple more days to waste before flying back to toronto on sunday. nice eh. i was reading through a magazine column the other day, it was an interesting read because it basically summed up what i have learned about friendship. like the author has said, we ought to realize that there is no such thing as an enemy for life, nor a friend for life. not to say there are no exceptions, but to hate a person for life takes too much time and effort. and to have a friend for life is more difficult to have an enemy for life. it's mutual interest instead of personal, meaning, while you struggle hard to keep a friend, it's futile if the other side does not reciprocate. it sucks when you think about it, having spent great times together and then gradually losing touch. it's nobody's fault, we're just older that's all. anyway, treat the friends you have now the way you wish to be treated. while tomorrow they may be strangers to you or they simply lose contacts with you, many years later when you look back, chances are you will smile upon those great memories of today.
september '02 : 0000 [pacific] : tropical fish : happy birthday alex! always stay true to yourself
